FAQ

What does OCR PDF to Markdown mean?

We recognise text on scan pages, then structure it into Markdown headings, paragraphs and lists — not a flat OCR dump only.

What OCR engine do you use?

OCR runs in your browser with Tesseract.js. Language models may be downloaded from a CDN; your PDF is never uploaded.

How accurate is OCR?

OCR accuracy depends on scan quality, language, handwriting and page layout. Review recommended for handwritten or low-contrast pages.

Will every page go through OCR?

In this mode, yes. On other tools, only pages classified as scans are OCR’d.

Can I choose the OCR language?

Yes. Automatic is the default; English, German, French and Spanish are available under Advanced options.

Do scanned pages leave my device?

No. OCR runs locally in the browser with Tesseract.js.
